Teams from around the globe are preparing themselves for the 44th WorldSkills Competition in October. This event will take place at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. With over 1,300 participants from 77 countries, this event is sure to showcase the value of skills. There will be 51 different skill competitions representing six skill sectors. We at Studica are pleased to announce, that we are an official supplier and a skills sponsor of the WorldSkills Mobile Robotics Competition for 2017 in the Manufacturing and Engineering Technology sector.
WorldSkills Mobile Robotics Competition
A trending field in manufacturing and engineering technology, Mobile Robotics has applications in diverse industries such as aerospace, manufacturing, medicine, agriculture. Robotics engineers are responsible for designing, maintaining, developing, and researching to expand the potential of robots. There are four main elements of this year’s competition:
- Programming
- Preparing specifications for the robot’s capabilities
- Testing, making adjustments, assembling, and testing
- Repairing and troubleshooting issues
The WorldSkills Mobile Robotics Competition is designed to strengthen the following skills:

WorldSkills Mobile Robotics Collection 2017
The WorldSkills Mobile Robotics Collection 2017 is exclusively available at Studica for the teams competing from around the world. Since the 2015 event in São Paulo, we have made modifications based on the feedback from competing teams and the demands of this year’s competition. The 2017 Collection offers new features such as an enhanced number of components and a programming toolkit. Add-on components are also available. The competition kit features the National Instruments myRIO and LabVIEW that work together to serve as the controller for your robotic creations. In addition, you will find structural components, motors, motor controls, wheels, gears, drive train, sensors, controllers, batteries, and fasteners. Everything you need to showcase your designing, building and programming skills is included.
