Local Michigan University in Ferrari HYPERCAR Design Challenge a “BIG DEAL”!
even schools are now in the running for the Ferrari World Design Contest.
This Italian car maker, in partnership with Autodesk as a sponsor and technical partner, launched the contest for international design schools. Announced in July 2011, the winner gets to be involved in planning future a Ferrari car, an internship lead by Flavio Manzoni and a cash prize.

Virtual Robotics Challenge with fischertechnik
This time, as promised, I want to share a little news with you about a recent event that showcased fischertechnik. Studica was involved in hosting the 3rd Annual Virtual Robotics Challenge at the Ontario Skills Competition in Waterloo, Ontario Canada in May of this year.

National Instruments Hardware and Software in Ontario’s Energy SHSM
I was able to use hardware from the Fischertechnik Oeco Tech Renewable Energies Kit to construct the Solar Array, complete with DC Motor. The solar tracker is a part of this kit, and comes with graphical instructions for assembly and wiring. With this, I was able to add two Light Sensors and design a simple system for control using LabVIEW.

Fun with Physics, Universal 3 and Challenge!
Two much anticipated new releases from fischertechnik are due to finally hit our shelves in the coming month. The first is the new Profi Dynamic set. Subtitled “fun with Physics” , this great new set contains over 400 pieces and includes instructions for building six different coaster style models, all for learning about such physical phenomena as acceleration, inertia of mass, centrifugal force, the law of conservation of energy, the principle of linear momentum and laws of motion.

Teach Realistic, Industrial Robotics with the new fischertechnik ROBO TX Automation Robots
The fischertechnik ROBO TX Automation Robots set acts as both a replacement and an upgrade to the recently retired “Industrial Robots II” kit. As you would guess from the name, this set addresses the construction and programming of the type of robots commonly found in industrial settings, such as automobile manufacturing, on a production line or in an automated warehouse.

Introducing the First Annual fischertechnik Design and Engineering Challenge!
For this, the first annual fischertechnik Design and Engineering Challenge, our goal is to find the VERY best of the best, those special machines which most effectively and creatively address the task of sorting materials based on color. One winner will be selected from both the middle school and high school level and will be crowned “America’s Best Marble Sorter 2011”.
