The SB 70 Middle Grades Career Technical Education and Career Pathways grant program aims to provide middle grades students with career technical education and career exploration learning experiences.
Eligibility
Be a California school district, charter school (direct-funded or locally funded), or county office of education, serving or having administrative responsibility for eighth grade students. Be committed to providing career planning and CTE experiences to eighth grade students. Be committed to a sequence of career exploration and CTE courses that are standards-based and developmentally appropriate for middle grades through high school students
Funding
Legal Authority: Governor’s Initiative on Improving and Strengthening Career Technical Education, Budget Act Item number 6110-170-0001.
Total Available: $1,800,000.00
Allocation Formula: A minimum of $100,000.00 and a maximum of $150,000.00 in SB 70 funds are available to each applicant based on the application and proposed budget. Monies are allocated from the community college reversion account through an Interagency Agreement.
