Lumion Announces LiveSync for Revit

As you may know, Lumion is a powerful 3d architectural visualization software used to create stunning visualizations that win business. You don’t need complex CAD software, or to spend days creating them. Lumion works in real-time and can render videos and walk-throughs in minutes. There has always been a great synergy using Lumion with Revit®. Now, with LiveSync available as part of the Lumion 7.3 update, you can make changes in Revit and immediately see them appear live in Lumion.

What is LiveSync for Revit?

Lumion 7.3: LiveSync for Revit Imagine a plug-in for Revit that allows you to create a live connection with Lumion – this exactly what LiveSync is. When you are in the early stages of the design process, this can save you time and help you get the job done faster. You may be making frequent changes in Revit, but now you can preview them in real-time in Lumion.

Essentially, you can experience a high-quality, real-time 3D view of your Revit design with this handy plug-in. In addition to viewing your model in real-time, you can also export a Collada (.DAE) file from Revit and seamlessly load/reload it into Lumion. There are other benefits such as the ability to automatically apply glass materials and export bump mapping.

Get Started with LiveSync for Revit in 4 Simple Steps

  1. First things first, you need a Lumion 7 license. Studica offers Lumion 7 and Lumion 7 Pro licenses.  Lumion 7 Pro Educational Edition is available for academic institutions.
  2. Update your software to Lumion 7.3. This update is free for Lumion 7 users.
  3. Then you can download the “Lumion Plugin 2.0 for Revit” for free at Lumion’s website or the Autodesk® App store.
  4. Then you are ready to get started! You can find tutorials that explain how to use LiveSync, discuss materials, and settings on Lumion’s website. There is also a helpful FAQ section, as well.
