Siemens Offers Free STEM Curriculum and SoftwareIf you haven’t heard, Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) announced the release of a new high school engineering design course. This is a contemporary problem and project-based STEM curriculum. The course, Siemens Engineering Design, is available to secondary schools free of charge. Siemens has made a commitment to make this course affordable and effective for any high school. As such, in addition to the free STEM curriculum, they are also offering Siemens Solid Edge design software and “Siemens online academy” available to participating schools free of charge.

Siemens STEM Curriculum for High SchoolsThis is an excellent opportunity for any high school to bring world-class engineering design software and high-quality STEM curriculum to their students. Empower your students to develop their own solutions to problems. Project-based learning and problem-solving are essential in preparing students for successful careers. Throughout this program, students are expected to research, design, develop, and communicate the solutions they create. Engineering design and problem-solving processes are a core element of this curriculum. It was also carefully developed to be appropriate for all of your students.

You can choose to use it as a full year course or as a semester double period block schedule. You can also tie it into a locally developed curriculum. You can also leverage it as a foundation for educational programs such as the SREB Advanced Career Program. The course focuses on original thinking, collaboration, and innovation showing students there is often more than just one right answer. Level 1 & 2 Siemens Industry Certification exams will be available to students.
