For those in our education community unfamiliar with AU, it offers a year-round learning and networking experience that helps its members develop professionally and advance their careers. With free membership, the Autodesk University website offers technical learning, social networking, blogs, videos and audio podcasts.

At the AU website there is a large focus on technical learning, with in-depth training classes covering more than 1,500 topics with thousands of screencasts, class handouts, speaker previews, as well as technical articles.  Online classes can be filtered by track, including Education.  For example, ‘A Creative Teaching Approach to Sustainable Design in Architectural Curricula’ is one of the titles available with a PowerPoint, handout, screencast and podcast.  There are many more titles to choose from among the classes.

Autodesk University’s flagship event is its annual conference and exhibition in Las Vegas where design professionals and educators from around the world attend classes, keynotes, product demonstrations, exhibits and networking events.  Attendees share ideas, work together to solve problems, and form professional relationships. Attendees also get year-round access to over 500 online classes on the Autodesk University website.  AU Qualified Educator Passes are available at a discount for members of the Autodesk Education Community, and for those who are currently teaching at an accredited educational institution, such as a high school, college, or university.

AU Virtual is a live, online event that offers expert-led studio-recorded classes and product clinics that include live Q&A with instructors, and online interaction with peers and experts via a customized Twitter interface. Currently, AU Virtual coincides with the AU conference in Las Vegas. AU Virtual Premier attendees also get year-round access to over 500 online classes on the Autodesk University website.
