Electrical Engineering and Electro-Mechanical Automation Without a Computer
The fischertechnik PROFI E-Tech set is specially designed to provide an introduction to the exciting subject of electrical engineering, with a focus on electrical circuits, electro-mechanics and electronic controls.

Using functional models, topics such as the principle of series and parallel connections and the control of a traffic light are explained step-by-step. Includes the E-Tech Module, a special interface with eight set programs to control various models, including a: burglar alarm with a buzzer, a hand dryer with a light barrier, a garage door with a magnetic sensor, and more. The E-Tech Module contains three inputs for digital sensors, such as a probe, photo-transistor and reed contact, as well as an output for a motor or two indicator lights.

Contains 260 components for constructing the following models:

  • Torch
  • AND-OR Circuit
  • Refrigerator with Interior Lighting
  • Staircase Lighting
  • Continuity Tester
  • Elevator
  • Series and Parallel Connection
  • Simple Flash Light
  • Tower with Blinking Warning Light
  • Punching Machine
  • Traffic Light Control
  • Garage Door
  • Alarm System
  • Barrier of a Public Garage
  • Hand Dryer
  • Brick Dispenser

Also includes 62 page full color construction booklet with detailed instructions for building all of the above models, as well as a multilanguage, black and white teaching guide and activity booklet covering various aspects of Electronics, including:

  • Electric Circuits
  • Conductor and Non-Conductor
  • Series and Parallel Connection
  • AND-OR Circuit
  • Functional Principle of the Motor
  • Connections
  • The Magnetic Sensor (Reed Contact)
  • Special Programs
  • The Phototransistor

...and more.

Includes Mini Motor, E-Tech Module, Sensor, Lightbarrier, Magnetic Sensor and Buzzer, and battery tray for 9V block (Battery NOT included)

Additional Information for Educators and Administrators

This set can be used in the classes addressing the following topics: Electronics, Circuits, Science, possibly Physics.

Specific concepts addressed with this set: Electrical engineering and electro-mechanical automation of systems without a computer.

Electric Circuits—interrupted circuits and closed circuits.

Build a model of a Torch/Light, and experiment with using the pushbutton as either a make or break contact. Do the same experiment with the Refrigerator Model.

Circuit Diagrams—learn the components used, and draw diagrams for each of the models you work with.

Conductors and Non-Conductors.

Build and experiment with a Continuity Tester.

Series and Parallel Connections—learn about and experiment with these.

AND-OR Circuit--Build and diagram an AND-OR Circuit, and experiment with both series and parallel connection variations.

Two-Way Connections---build a simplified model of “staircase lighting” to learn how this works by using a change-over switch, aka commutator.

Electric Motors and Polarity—learn the functional principle of an electric motor.

Build a model of a working elevator to study the principle behind a motor control with two directions of rotation.

Electro-Mechanical Controls—Build a flashing light control and a traffic light control.

Controls Using Electronics/Microprocessor Control—learn about a microprocessor system and programs Learn how magnetic sensors work by building a model of a safe door with an alarm system using such a sensor.

Learn about phototransistors and utilize one in building a model of a working hand dryer.

Do further experiments with a microprocessor and sensors by building models of a punching machine, automatic garage door opener, parking garage barrier and a brick dispensing.
