The EKG (Electrocardiogram) measures cardiac electrical potential
waveforms (voltages produced during contractions of the heart).
The sensor comes with a package of one hundred silver/silver chloride
electrode patches that can be attached to the skin. The sensor's circuitry
isolates the user from the possibility of electrical shock.
