Studica may require proof of your academic status, for some items before the order is shipped.

Special pricing is available to students, faculty, and staff meeting the following minimum academic status requirements. Many educational products are upgradeable to commercial versions. This will be stated on the company license agreement. Purchases are limited to only one copy. Some companies require their own specific signed License Agreement. These forms are found below. Acceptable forms of academic IDs are as follows,

The SolidWorks Student Edition 2004-2005 is available to degree-seeking students or full-time faculty members whose intended use is for personal learning or academic purposes. A "degree-seeking" student is defined as a student who can confirm enrollment in a minimum of three credit hours at an accredited academic institution, and is accepted into a degree-granting program OR can confirm current full-time enrollment in a minimum nine-month certificate-granting program.  
Please note: Software ceases to function 24 months after registration.

Please note Student and faculty purchases can purchase under the following conditions:
  • Students are defined as registered students who can confirm current enrollment in six (6) credit hours in a minimum of a two-year, degree-granting program; or can confirm current enrollment in a nine (9) month certificate granting vocational or career program; or can confirm current enrollment in grades 9-12 of a public or private K-12 educational institution.

Who qualifies for special educational pricing
  1. Accredited public or private primary or secondary school providing full-time instruction for grades K-12 or a school district for such schools.
  2. Accredited public or private university or college (including community, junior or vocational college) that grants degrees requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time study.
  3. Administrative offices or boards of education of educational institutions.
  4. Quark authorized training providers as approved by Quark, Inc.
  5. Home schools approved by Quark at our sole discretion.
  6. Government schools located in United States territories.
  7. Named educational entities approved by Quark in writing or listed by Quark on its Web site.
  8. Hospitals that are wholly owned and operated by an educational institution. Wholly owned and operated means the educational institution is the sole owner of the hospital and is the only entity exercising control over day-to-day operations.
  9. Higher education research laboratories that are a public institution and recognized by the department of education, teach students as part of their research mission, and can provide a copy of bylaws that state the relationship with the controlling university.
  10. Educational consortia and systems: Corporations and associations validly organized and existing under the laws of a state or territory of the United States, each member or shareholder is an accredited school.
  11. Students attending an accredited public or private private, primary or secondary school with valid student ID and a class schedule showing current enrollment.
  12. Students attending an accredited public or private university or college (including community, junior, or vocational college) that grants degrees requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time study with a valid student ID and a class schedule showing current enrollment.

Which institutions do not qualify as an Education Institution or Organisation?

The following institutions or organisations do not qualify:
  • Non-accredited schools.
  • Federal, state and local government organisations. Military academies that do not provide an academic degree.
  • Non-proift lobbyist groups

Definitions of Eligible Educational Institutions

A. Educational Institutions: Defined as an accredited school organised and operated exclusively for educational purposes. An accredited school must be:
  1. A public or private K-12 school, vocational school, correspondence school, junior college, college, university or scientific or technical institution accredited by territorial government appropriate to the locality/region where the institution is located.
  2. An accredited preschool meeting all the following criteria: (i) have an early childhood program that serves a minimum of ten children ages two through five; (ii) have been in operation for at least one year; and (iii) provides educational services.
B. Administrative Offices or Boards or Education of Educational Institutions: Defined as district and regional administrative offices of the foregoing Educational Institutions defined in Section A above.

C. Full and Part Time Faculty and Staff of Educational Institutions: Defined as full and part time faculties and staff of Educational Institutions defined in Section A above.

D. Full and Part Time Matriculated Students of Higher Education Institutions: Defined as full or part time matriculated students of a Higher Education Institution defined as a public or private vocational school, correspondence school, junior college, college, university, or scientific or technical institution accredited by territorial government appropriate to the locality/region where the institution is located. Full and Part Time Matriculated Students of K-12 are also Qualified Educational Users.

E. Educational Consortia and Systems: Defined as corporations and associations validly organised and accredited by territorial government appropriate to the locality/region where the institution is located (for example, community colleges and independent schools).Each member or shareholder must be an Education Institution as defined in Section A above.

F. Non-profit Charitable Institutions that have registered charity status: Defined as a non-profit institution that has been granted "registered charity" status under the regional Income Tax Authority (example Red Cross). Educational discounted products for the internal office use only and not to be distributed to the individual staff for personal use.
