Past Winners Competition Overview

Rules & Regulations

1. Entries not meeting the following conditions may be disqualified at the discretion of the Studica Skills Staff:
• Each Entry must be original work that meets the Theme of the Competition and follows any guidelines as given in the competition.
• Entries may not include the use of copyrighted material.
• Each entry must use the designated tools (software/hardware/instruments, etc…) as specified in the Competition Theme.
• Each work may only be entered into one Studica Skills Competition.


2. There must be a minimum of ten entries from ten individual students by the end of the competition deadline for a competition to be valid. Competitors must be students. A student may make it to the final round and may win prizes in multiple competitions.

3. The Finalists who are selected as winners for any Studica Skills competition will need to provide:
• Academic Proof 1
• Original file of the entry in the appropriate format as specified in the Competitions rules.
• A signed affidavit (which will be sent to winners to sign)
• Other information as needed (on some competitions a serial number may be required).


4. Competition entries must be either uploaded onto StudicaSkills.com or mailed in. If mailing a file on CD or DVD, submit the entry in a regular-sized CD case (not an ultra-thin case) and mark the CD/DVD with Winner’s name and Competition Name in black marker. Mailed entries will not be returned and are the property of Studica, Inc. and StudicaSkills.com. Mailed documents or entries should be sent to:

5. Entry materials (CDs or DVDs) submitted will not be returned to the entrant. Studica, Inc. and StudicaSkills.com is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen, or misappropriated entries.

6. All entries submitted must be original and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Entrant shall, by entering, indemnify and hold Studica, Inc. and StudicaSkills.com harmless from and against any claims inconsistent with the foregoing.

7. Entries may have multiple co-authors, but only one name should be designated on the entry. All prizes will be awarded to the name as it appears on the entry form, and the division of prizes among co-authors is the responsibility of the winners.

8. StudicaSkills.com is open to all current students from all countries of the world. Employees of Studica, Inc., its families, subsidiaries, sponsors, and affiliates are not eligible.

9. Entrant may submit a maximum of three unique entries per Competition, though no more than one entry by a student may advance to the Finals per Competition. Entrant may not enter the same work in more than one Studica Skills Competition.

10. Studica reserves the right to all Competition Files submitted to StudicaSkills.com Competitions to be used for promotional and marketing purposes without future consent or compensation of the entrant(s). The creator of the submission always owns their work.

11. It is entrant’s responsibility to endure that the submitted work(s) are complete and viewable.

12. The Studica Skills Judges do not give feedback or a critique to entrants.

13. Entries will be screened by Studica Skills staff. The Top 20 entries per Competition, as determined by vote count, will advance to Finalist status. The Finalists will be sent to the Judges who will select the winners. The judging panel consists of Professors/Teachers/Instructors who teach or have expertise in the relevant field and/or qualified Studica Skills staff and/or industry experts and/or sponsor staff will conduct the final round of judging after the Finalists are selected by open voting. The Winners and Finalists will be announced in news releases to trade publications and also listed on the Studica Skills website. An e-mail will also be sent to all entrants once decisions have been made.

14. Finalists will be announced within one week of the close of competition voting. Winners will be announced within one calendar month of the close of voting. StudicaSkills.com will use its best efforts to announce the winners at the designated time, but will not be held liable for any unforeseen delays. Winners will be notified by e-mail. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit confirming that the winner’s entry is original and he/she holds rights to the entry. Failure to sign and return the form within the required time period or provision of false information may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Affidavits are subject to verification by Studica, Inc., and its agents. Entry constitutes permission to use winner’s name, likeness, and entry for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.

15. Prizes: There will be no transfer and substitution of prizes except as necessary due to availability or exclusivity of a prize not available to students overseas; in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. If it is necessary to substitute a prize, Studica reserves the right to give the winner a cash substitute determined by the wholesale value of the prize. All cash prizes awarded will be in US currency. All winners agree to release Studica and sponsors from all liability regarding prizes won. All federal, state, and local taxes, and customs fees, when applicable, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Studica will not pay any winners’ taxes. Prizes will be sent out within a reasonable amount of time, and Studica and StudicaSkills.com will use its best efforts to send prizes out in a timely fashion. Please note that prizes which are being sent to winners from Sponsors may take longer than prizes sent directly from the Studica Skills Team. If the winner has not received any portion of prizes within 180 days and has not responded to the Studica Skills Team communication, Studica and StudicaSkills.com will no longer be responsible for delivery of prizes.

16. Entrant acknowledges that all submissions entered may be distributed to judges who will be selecting the winners, and Entrant agrees to release, indemnify, and hold Studica Inc. and StudicaSkills.com, its sponsors, and judges harmless for liability, damages, or claims for injury or loss to any person or property relating to, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, participation in Studica Skills Competitions.

17. By entering a Studica Skills Competitions, entrant and/or their parents or legal guardian (if such entrant is a minor) agrees to accept and be bound by the decisions of Studica Inc., StudicaSkills.com and its judges which are final and binding in all matters. Entrant agrees to be bound by all terms of these official Studica Skills Rules & Regulations are established herein. Should teachers or school administrators of students require official Studica Skills Consent Forms, they will be provided upon request. 1. Academic Proof is official documentation that shows that the Contestant was a student to an accredited academic institution either at the time they registered for the contest, or at the time they submitted their entry. It is certainly understandable that some students may, for example, sign up for a competition while they are a Senior, then graduate before the contest closes. If this is the case the contestant is still eligible to win prizes. Winners will have the option of e-mailing, faxing, snail-mailing, or uploading their academic proof and original files.
• Academic Proof can be any of the following:
o A copy of a student ID card that shows that student as an active student during the time of the competition.
o An official school schedule for a relevant semester.
o An official school transcript for a relevant semester.
o A note (typed or handwritten) on official school or department letterhead signed and dated by school Administration or Faculty that states that the winner was a student there at a relevant time.
