Fusion has stereo tools and enhancements, and supports a number of 3D stereo viewing systems like OpenGL quad-buffering (used with most LCD shutter glasses and passive stereo monitors), anaglyph, side-by-side, stacking and interlace viewing. 3D viewing hardware like NVIDIA 3D Vision,Planar monitors, JVC monitors, Projectors and 3D TVs
Fusion is at the forefront of the next compositing revolution with its Deep Volume system. Rather than layering flat Images, Deep images are volumes with depth as well and will merge with scenes correctly. With full a lighting system, scenes with clouds, fog, fire, atmospherics and other simulations, can be interactively controlled. Accelerated by OpenCL, scenes can render in real-time, instead of hours.
The importance of Color Science in Fusion has always been a paramount fundamental development. Supporting integer and HDRI floating point color, industry standard color standards, like REC709, Wide Gamut and ACES, working in Linear, Video linear or Log. 3DLUTs, Monitor calibration, plus Waveform, Vector and Histogram scopes. LUT creation, analyzing and designing tools along with advanced color correction tools make Fusion sophisticate and accurate in color handling.

OpenCL GPU Supercomputing
OpenCL's open computing language is a framework that utilizes the massively parallel operations of GPU's for general computing to achieve blazing speed increases. How fast? We are seeing improvements as much as 10000% on some of the most processor-intensive tools in Fusion.
Fusion supports Open standards and Initiatives. Many Images formats like Open EXR, RED and QuickTime. Color systems like Log, Linear, sRGB and REC709. Open Scripting languages, Python and Lua. OpenCL Supercomputing. Plugin standards OpenFX, and After effects. eyeon is a contributor to the Wine Open source project for Linux. FBX, OBJ and Collada 3D models and scene importing.
Primatte is an Industry standard keying technology that is used to extract a single color background from an image and create a transparency matte that allows the user to put the extracted foreground onto a different background. The new features in Primatte V5 are quite revolutionary and will make keying easier and faster.
New Metadata tools make it simple to respect the metadata in a project pipeline, by providing tools for copying or inserting custom metadata to any image, and for merging metadata from multiple images.
Particles & Geometry
Fusion's ground-breaking particle system now allows the artist to use geometry as particle regions. Emit particles from the surface or interior of an imported FBX mesh, make a primitive 3D shape which acts as an attractor, or bounce particles from any geometry, dramatically improving the particle interaction with 3D scenes.
Fusion supports Python 2.7 and 3.1 right within the interface, giving your scripting gurus the choice of using the built in Lua or Python languages when creating Utility, Tool and Comp scripts. Both eyeonscript and Python will work together so existing scripts will continue to work, making the transition painless and allowing better integration for pipelines that prefer a single language.
RED Camera EPIC ™ Support
With the continued popularity of the RED camera platform, it's no mystery why the R3D™ file format in Fusion now includes support for the new EPIC camera and color science.
Domain Of Definition / Region Of Interest System. This system allows for user-definable areas to limit processing, significantly improving performance and memory usage for large scale compositions, allowing artists to focus on key areas.
SVG importing, Scalable Vector Graphics, the open standard for 2D vector specs can be exported by a large array of applications and imported into Fusion.
Fusion has a mature Rototscoping toolset, highly interactive and sports Bezier and Bsplines. Double-edged splines to control drop-off. Motion blur with shutter angle and weighting to match live action. Integrated tracking of spline points and masks. UI shortcuts to easily manipulate spline points and segments. Auto inbetweening of spline shapes. Importing of many spline types.
Fusion is well supported by Plugins to get the job done. GenArts, Re:Vision, Komkomdoorn and others.
OpenFX, and After Effects plugins as well are hosted by Fusion.
