Q&A for QuarkXPress 9 Lion Support

Q. Will/Does QuarkXPress 9 support Mac OS X Lion?
A. Quark will officially support Mac OS X Lion in a 9.1 release of QuarkXPress, QuarkCopyDesk, Quark Publishing System, QuarkXPress Server, and Quark Web-to-Print System in August. We are not anticipating any issues with 9.0 or 9.0.1 supporting Mac OS X Lion but neither of these releases will be officially supported on this operating system.

Q. Will Quark’s products and solutions support any of the new features in Mac OS X Lion?
A. We do not currently have plans for specific additional features in our products based on the new features in Lion. Two of the most useful new features for designers in Mac OS X Lion are auto-save and auto-versioning. The good news is that QuarkXPress has had these two features built into QuarkXPress since the early 1990s. This can be configured in the Open and Save Application Preferences in QuarkXPress. In addition, Quark Publishing System has extensive versioning controls for helping organizations better organize and manage their publishing workflows.
