The myDAQ is a single device the has eight commonly used plug-and-play computer-based lab instruments. With NI myDAQ, the computer becomes an engineering instrument.
Designed by National Instruments with high-quality Texas Instruments Analog Integrated Circuits (ICs), the hardware system diagram and list of Texas Instruments IC's in the NI myDAQ user guide depicts how TI data converters, amplifiers, and interface and power management circuits were used in the design of NI myDAQ.
Extend the device's capabilities with LabVIEW and Multisim. Verify homework solutions with real signals using Multisim for circuit simulation and LabVIEW for automating measurements and performing signal processing.

Two Differential Analog Input and Analog Output Channels (200 ks/s, 16
bit, +/- 10 Volts)
Access matched analog input and output channels in a +/- 10 volt range through
the screw terminal connectors or +/- 2 volt range through the 3.5mm audio jacks.
+5 , +15, and -15 Volt Power Supply Outputs (up to 500m Watts of Power)
USB powered for maximum mobility, myDAQ supplies enough power for simple
circuits and sensors.
Eight Digital Input and Digital Output Lines (3.3 Volt TTL-Compatible)
Use software-timed digital lines for interfacing both Low Voltage TTL (LVTTL)
and 5 volt TTL digital circuits. Each line is individually selectable for input
or output.
60 Volt Digital Multimeter (DMM) for Measuring Voltage, Current, and
Resistance
The isolated DMM includes the capability to measure both AC and DC voltage and
current as well as resistance, diode voltage, and continuity.

As a controls student, you really cannot beat the functionality of this device. Once you understand programming with labview, the myDAQ can really be used for any project. at $200 for all the hardware and software included in this package, you would be a fool not to pick one of these up while in school. Finally, there is nothing better than supporting a New York company offering discounted products to students!!

The only thing because of which I do not rate the product 5 stars is because when I bought it I supposed that it came completely as a kit with the breadboard. But I was wrong, when I got it there was not breadboard inside. So, I suggest to specify that it does not come with a breadboard, that you have to spend more money to buy the other part.

Require this for my mechatronics project. Excellent piece of kit. Downloaded software. Hooked up to the first part of project and was able to control the motor speed manually with a simple Labview program via the myDAQ. Very happy with it so far.

A neat and somewhat handy device to learn how much more discrete equipment would work in the lab and/or the workplace. Doesn't hurt that there are several useful simulated devices that emulate lower priced discrete equipment (yet still expensive) so one can get a good idea before touching the much more expensive professional device.

Hello... I here to say that the item is nice, well thought out, and put together in a package that resembles a well-thought-out idea (engineering at its highest). I noticed the software a bit while thumbing through the packages it came with... There are some real, nice items that come packaged with this hardware. The software is top notch. I have skimmed through it and noticed that, although it can become complicated for a novice, it is drawn out programmatically with the viewer in mind. All together...good product and with nice attachments, too. I saw the items that can be attached with the NI myDAQ. Sincerely, Seth

I'm attending a Coursera Linear Circuits Online training. For the labs a NI myDAQ was required. Although I was a bit late in ordering the myDAQ, Studica had it sent to my home address within a week. Great support and what a great device. Endless possibilities and I love doing my Coursera lab assignments with it.

Device works as stated. Readings basically match my other testers. Oscilloscope is basic with few controls. Have not tested all instruments and apps. Instructions/help files leave something to be desired but with tenacity you can prevail. Loads a LOT of start up and run-time service files on computer. Will not operate without said files. I would like to have an explanation for what each file does. Not knowing what they do I will probably remove it from my desktop and install on a laptop. Good value for the beginner. The multimeter alone is worth the cost. With the above stated I would recommend it.

I bought the myDAQ because I needed one for the edX course electronic interfaces. What a great piece of gear. The software takes a while to install on a W8.1 laptop but it is very stable. The scope panel and measurements are easy to read. The tutorials were essential since the instrument has so many capabilities and interfaces. Every day I learn a bit more about this device and I am amazed at how well thought out the hardware and software is. PC based scopes have been available for a while but remained limited in capabilities. The myDAQ feels totally confident among scopes costing $1000 or more. Besides using the myDAQ for measurements on microcontrollers and opamps in the edX course, I am using this to check preamps, guitar amplifiers and pedals. I have also used the myDAQ to debug some electronic interfaces for the Raspberry Pi and the Intel Galileo. It is easy to pack the myDAQ in my backpack with my laptop when I am on the road. If there is a gripe, it is a small one. Why doesn't a meter of this caliber come with minigrabber probes with clips that attach to the probes? It makes hands-free testing so much easier.

The NI myDAQ is an amazing device. I use it as an instrument monitoring device but I have also used it as a scientific calculator. This little thing has thousands of applications!
