You can even play games from previous GGJ sessions.

Global Game Jam was founded in 2008. It was created by Susan Gold in collaboration with Gorm Lai and Ian Schreiber to foster an idea, in today’s heavily connected world  people can come together and be creative and express themselves in a multitude of ways utilizing the medium of Game Development. This weekend event starts on a Friday evening where participants gather at a registered site location. The participants then watch a short video from leading game developers who give advice and then reveal the theme.  The participants have until the following Sunday evening to finish their theme related game. The Global Game Jam is not designed to be a competition but instead to be an intellectual challenge designed to foster relationships.
