Architectural Visualizations with Lumion

Recently, Dr. Ramzi Hassan of the Norwegian University of Life Sciences discussed his experience using Lumion 3D architectural visualization software.  For about 20 years, he has worked and taught 3D visualization for architecture and planning. Improving Architectural Designs with Visualization Rendering

He went on to describe a discussion with a senior architect who was following one of continuous education courses some years ago saying “I wish I could use these 3D programs, but I just don’t have the time to learn and use complex 3D modeling programs”. Dr. Hassan thought Lumion could be the answer for him: because it’s intuitive and easy to use.  It also visualizes preliminary design studies in a relatively short time. Lumion makes it possible for architects and designers to breathe life into their illustrations. At the VR-Lab, which Dr. Hassan founded about 5 years ago here at UMB, he decided to build a new 3D set-up based on Lumion and it has become a great success.  It was flexible, allowing partipants to get any kind of project and create visualization rendering. It allowed them to perform dynamic changes and additions on the fly while groups of professionals and community groups discussed the project. This allowed several different scenarios to be discussed together. This kind of flexibility was absolutely not available before.
