Magix Acquires SONY Creative Software Products

MAGIXEarlier this year, Sony Creative Software sold many of their software products to MAGIX Software GmbH. Sony Creative Software (SCS) will remain an important part of Sony Electronics. They will now focus their attention on the Catalyst Production Suite that includes Catalyst Prepare and Catalyst Edit. MAGIX Software is a leader in user-friendly multimedia solutions. Offering a variety of solutions including music, video and photo-editing software, this acquisition serves to strengthen their portfolio. Sony software customers need not be concerned as both companies seek to ensure a seamless user experience. Existing SCS customers who purchased from Sony will continue be supported.

What Products Did MAGIX Acquire?

VEGAS Pro video editing softwareTo solidify its position in the market and accelerate growth in international markets, MAGIX purchased many popular Sony Creative Software titles. VEGAS Pro and VEGAS Movie Studio video editing software and audio production workshops are included. As is the Sound Forge digital audio editing suite, along with Audio Master Suite, SpectraLayers  Pro and the ACID digital audio workstation software program. CD Architect and DVD Architect software are another component of the deal. Also, built into the agreement are the Sound Series Loops & Samples, Noise Reduction Audio Plug-in and ACIDplanet website and Music Assets.
