The US Office of Naval Research sponsors Free STEM Education Kits for Middle Schools and High Schools. The Infinity Project which was developed in 1999 by the SMU Lyle School of Engineering and Texas Instruments in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education, the National Science Foundation and others is aimed at closing the gap between the number of engineering graduates currently produced in the United States and the large need for high-quality engineering graduates in the near future.

Because of this gap the Office of Naval Research (ONR) announced Dec. 15, 2011 that it selected 12 winners from more than 125 entries in its Sponsoring Scholars in Science challenge and issued grants to them to enhance their STEM programs.

A direct result of this funding is the free availability of these STEM education kits from Infinity Project to public, charter, private schools within a 20 mile radius of a U.S.Military installation.

This is a great way for the schools to gain a true understanding of the Infinity Project and an affordable solution to encourage STEM curriculum. If you would like more information, please email the Infinity Project for more information.
