Aerial Robotics is a growing and vibrant sector in the aerospace industry that is also a compelling topic for STEAM education. Studica is dedicated to both robotics and education so it was logical to work with Copter Express to bring their innovative COEX drone products to our customers. COEX is an open-source drone kit and curriculum designed for education and research. These products teach a variety of STEAM subjects including engineering and coding, provide an exciting and fun way to learn, and are designed to compete in and win aerial robotics competitions. In this article, you’ll find out how you can register for a free Aerial Robotics seminar that will provide an Introduction to Autonomous Drones and take a closer look at the COEX Clover Drone kit.

COEX Clover Drone Kit

Looking to get into the world of coding and droning? The COEX Clover Drone Kit is a comprehensive aerial robotics solution. The programmable Clover kit includes videos that can help everyone, regardless of experience, assemble and program the drone. It also includes a PX4 flight controller and a Raspberry Pi 4 controlling onboard computer, this can be used to connect to the drone over Wi-Fi. It is also Python-based, so you will learn real coding. Don’t be alarmed about that, if you fail to make the code properly, you can also download the ready-made codes that are available to you. The platform uses the ROS framework allowing the program to communicate with the Clover services. Positioning systems include Optical flow, ArUlco markers, and GPS.

COEX Clover Drone Kit

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, the COEX Clover Drone is a versatile tool from STEAM learning. It can be used to teach engineering, programming, and coding using Linux systems using Scratch, Python, and C++. Beyond that, it can also be used to teach Physics, Math, Technology, and Arts. Students can learn about electromechanics, aerodynamics, geometry, telemetry, data logging, and much more. A repair kit for the COEX Clover Drone is also available.
