The Foundry NukeIf you haven't heard of Nuke, it is an award-winning node based compositor. It is a fast and powerful tool for compositing. The Foundry Nuke is set to release the next version, Nuke 8 before 2014. Users are excited about the Foundry's ability to listen to the consumers' input to consider their wants and needs and then implement them into their software. The delivery of Nuke 8 reinforces its self-proclaimed descriptor as "nugget for everybody". The idea is that Nuke has something to offer everyone from Animators to Color Correctors to 3D Modelers.

For Animators, The Nuke 8 has a new Dub Sheet that gives the ability to view all your keys at any given point in the timeline and the ability to move them intuitively. This new software also provides the ability to compose edit and animate text directly within the viewer.

For those that are Color Correctors – the Foundry has created awesome new user interface tools such as color wheels, pixel analyzers and vector scopes. They have also automated color matching between scenes, analyzing them and then matching relieving the need to do manual grades.

For 3D Modelers – The updated modeling tool allows you to build a 3D model directly inside of Nuke along with UV's as well. Great new features that save time by making your pipelines more efficient. If you are an educator or a student, you can get discounts on The Foundry's products and other Multi-Media software over at Studica.

The sister applicate to Nuke, Hiero is also expecting an update that will enhance playback performance, offer new editing controls and innovative color handling controls. Together they offer a workflow and includes conform, compositing, editorial, review and shot management accrot tow advanced applications. We can't see what The Foundry will be up to next.
