Hello all! Once again it’s time for me to give you a little update on what’s new in the ever-fascinating world of fischertechnik! Of course the big news on the consumer end is that I JUST received word that the much anticipated new sets from fischertechnik, the Advanced Universal 3 and Profi Dynamic set, are shipping out from the manufacturer in Germany at the end of this week (July 22) , so if all goes according to plan, we should be able to start shipping these out the week of August 1st.
The other news in the land of fischertechnik is that we just got back from our big trip to the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference 2011 in Kansas City, MO. For those of you who are not familiar with SkillsUSA, it’s an annual educational gathering built around competitions in over 100 different skill areas for students, with thousands of students from all fifty states competing for national honors. While winning is a big part of the equation, it’s also about helping students to develop other dimensions beyond their core skill set—to become better speakers, listeners, learners, and team members. This was our second year in attendance at SkillsUSA, and we look forward to it, not only because it gives us a unique opportunity to showcase fischertechnik to the estimated 15,000 plus in attendance, but also because it gives us a chance to speak with the students and teachers who are actively using fischertechnik in the classroom to meet their educational objective.

py to be joined by Laurenz Wohlfarth from fischertechnik GmbH, who was on hand to meet with students and teachers and discuss some of the new projects in the works, as well as our friends from National Instruments, who were with us to present the newest release of LabVIEW software, which is now compatible with the fischertechnik ROBO TX Controller.
