ROBO TX ElectroPneumatic Set

February is that time of year when we look forward not only to ground hogs shadows and ♥ Valentine’s Day hearts ♥ and flowers, but also the unveiling of the new releases from fischertechnik. This year will bring four new releases—two of which are upgrades to a pair of highly popular educational kits, and two of which are brand new.

The first release we are looking forward to this year is the ROBO TX ElectroPneumatic set. This is an update to the ROBO PneuVac Set #500883, which was the last of the sets still available to use the old ROBO Interface. With this release, all fischertechnik robotic sets will now use only the ROBO TX Controller, and will no longer be compatible with the older LLWin or ROBO Interface control units.

Just like the previous version, this set is used for studying electro-pneumatics and vacuum technology. Included are detailed instructions for building four different models:

  • Pneumatic Motor
  • Color Sorting Robot (for colored parts)
  • Ball Obstacle Course
  • and Pinball Machine.

This set also includes an all new, powerful and compact compressor unit, which guarantees a reliable supply of compressed air to the models. In addition, the electro-magnetic valves included allow remote control of the models with a PC.  Also includes instructional material on CD, miniature motor, 2x solenoid valves, optical color sensor, vacuum exhauster, 3x cylinders with spring, 2x photo-transistors, 2x lens tip lamps, and 11 flex-rails.  400 components in all.  (Please note that use of this set also requires the ROBO TX Controller, ROBO Pro Software, and either the fischertechnik Accu-Set or Energy Set –all sold separately).  We expect this set to be available for shipping in late March.

Next time around, I’ll tell you a bit about the other new fischertechnik releases…so until we meet again, happy building!
