National Instruments Hardware and Software in Ontario’s Energy SHSM
I was able to use hardware from the Fischertechnik Oeco Tech Renewable Energies Kit to construct the Solar Array, complete with DC Motor. The solar tracker is a part of this kit, and comes with graphical instructions for assembly and wiring. With this, I was able to add two Light Sensors and design a simple system for control using LabVIEW. Continue reading

Cloud-Based Rendering for Revit and AutoCAD

Macworld UK Award Winners – QuarkXPress 9, Microsoft Office for Mac, Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
The Macworld 2011 Awards were announced in London last Thursday.

Fun with Physics, Universal 3 and Challenge!
Two much anticipated new releases from fischertechnik are due to finally hit our shelves in the coming month. The first is the new Profi Dynamic set. Subtitled “fun with Physics” , this great new set contains over 400 pieces and includes instructions for building six different coaster style models, all for learning about such physical phenomena as acceleration, inertia of mass, centrifugal force, the law of conservation of energy, the principle of linear momentum and laws of motion.
