It’s always great to hear success stories from the schools, and this show was no exception. There are always teachers who are happy to share their positive experiences from the classroom. It makes what we do very gratifying. One particular teacher explained how his classes were creating some fantastic, realistic architectural renderings in Autodesk Revit.

Unity is at the forefront of this curriculum because it is affordable and easy to use right out of the box. The ability for Unity to be able to import and utilize CAD models is tremendous in the education sector. Most schools have architecture classes and curriculum as well as 3D Modeling classes.

In a nutshell, purpose-built BIM solutions such as Revit help students learn holistic building design. BIM represents buildings as digital simulations rather than just traditional CAD drawings or 3D geometric models. Therefore, students who use BIM learn about the whole building. They learn to think more clearly about their design and are empowered to make informed decisions early in the process.

Autodesk created something called Project Neon a little while back. Project Neon is a cloud-based rendering service Autodesk is testing out. Basically, Neon is a plugin that you install into AutoCAD or Revit 2012 and you can use it within the program to send a drawing or a view up to Autodesk servers and have it rendered
