Inventor Fusion is a 3D mechanical design software for Windows, but will soon become available for the Mac for the first time. Autodesk will be releasing a free Technology Preview for the program which will allow Mac users to download an early version to provide feedback.

This semester two projects of note came to completion using Autodesk Revit. The first project involved creating a digital model of a local school using Revit. Information is now available to school administrators from the Building Information Model to manage facility use and plan reconfigurations as needed by student changes.

Autodesk’s Digital STEAM Workshop was a success, and showed the participants the scope and potential of this free Autodesk Curriculum. Autodesk’s Digital STEAM Curriculum is a project based teaching tool which allows teachers to focus on the instruction of key concepts. Key concepts covered in today’s workshop included design for Urban Farming, Urban Planning and Transit infrastructure, and Thermal cooling properties involved in the design of structures.
