The Studica Robotics 3D Depth Camera provides an interface for your controller/computer to use with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) and object avoidance libraries and algorithms. This allows you to easily map 3D environments. The camera uses a class 1 laser to sense the distance of objects in the camera's field of view. Standard cameras can only provide a 2D map of its focal area, whereas, with the laser-equipped on the camera, a 3D map can be created up to 1% at 1 meter of distance. High accuracy allows applications such as service robots to navigate a busy restaurant to deliver orders efficiently. With this camera, your mobile robot can avoid any changes in its environment on the fly. The 3D Depth Camera also serves for simple machine vision applications. The 3D Depth Camera also acts as a UVC RGB webcam. No matter the application, this camera can meet your project's vision needs.
Includes Type C to type A USB cable.

The potential uses for this hardware include:
Competition Robotics Platforms
- WorldSkills Mobile Robotics: It serves as a standard power and safety hub for Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) competing in WorldSkills events.
- Advanced Student Robotics: It powers and organizes advanced systems like FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) or FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) training builds.
- Safety Protocol Enforcement: Its unique Emergency Stop (E-Stop) circuit immediately cuts high-current power to dangerous actuators and motors while keeping logic controllers and safety light towers active to maintain communication and diagnostic telemetry.
STEM Education and Engineering Labs
- Classroom Robotics Kits: It acts as a heavy-duty power distribution system for classrooms utilizing the Studica Robotics Building System.
- Simplifying Wire Management: It replaces messy custom-made power rails, allowing students to securely map inputs and outputs using a centralized panel.
- Teaching Safety Routines: It provides a tangible way to teach students industrial safety, utilizing its physical Start, Reset, Stop buttons, and illuminated LED status indicators.
Industrial Automation & Autonomous Systems
- Low-Voltage DC Automation: It manages up to 500W of power for custom workbench test fixtures, small conveyor systems, or manufacturing prototypes. [
- Smart Farming Frameworks: It supports mobile, off-grid agricultural prototypes—such as automated planting or weeding robots—requiring robust power handling in field environments.
- Research and Embedded Development: It acts as the central power gateway for autonomous vehicles integrating advanced microcontrollers, LIDAR, depth cameras, and VMX2 Robotics Controllers.
